The Lady Sassoon Golden Heart Award: Call for Nominations

As the year 2011 fast approaches,
The Sir Victor Sassoon (Bahamas) Heart Foundation and The Heart Ball
Committee are gearing up for what promises to be a spectacular and momentous
occasion as they celebrate The Foundation's 50th anniversary,
golden jubilee at the Heart Ball on February 19th, 2011.
Members of the public are invited to nominate individuals
for The Lady Sassoon Golden Heart Award until January 14th. This person should be "an individual
with a golden heart, who has touched the lives and hearts of others..."

The decision made by the defending Hugh Campbell Basketball Tournament Champion Tabernacle Baptist Academy to bypass the popular event in 2011, sends a message.
Coach Norris Bain pointed out the enormous cost for travel to New Providence for the annual high school basketball extravaganza and there can be no doubt that the concern is legitimate. If the economic strain in Grand Bahama was not as great as it is, perhaps Bain and his associates would have made a strong effort to accumulate the funds necessary to try in 2011 for a seventh Hugh Campbell title, without worrying about the venture being a strain on the institution.
